About the Author
Larry is, by profession, a physicist. He has worked in the semiconductor industry, and, most recently in the solar industry. He has made significant contributions to optics and holography, measurement science, multivariate analysis, and in his tenure in the solar industry, silicon crystallization. He holds multiple patents in these fields, as well as many published papers.
In addition to the professional aspects of his life, he enjoys cooking, photography, and is a faithful San Francisco 49er fan.
He is married to Smadar, and has three children, and two grandchildren.

I had no clue about smoking food until now and now my family and friends think that I am an expert chef!The turkey I smoked for family gathering based solely on the detailed instructions in the book was a great success ( and I was asked several times to share the recipe…). That followed by a delicious smoked Salmon on another occasion and I cannot wait to try the other recipes!
The book details the equipment, the process and the ingredients and is easy to follow even by inexperienced folks like me. The results were fantastic and speak for themselves.
I highly recommend this book; you will be able to repeat what I did easily and try smoking new foods with confidence. - EE

It is a Fantastic book for a beginner BBQ smoking. Good information easy to follow step by step. Highly recommend to all BBQ beginner.
It’s a whole new world! Move over BBQ, I’m going to have to make room for a smoker. This is a great book (and the hot dog recipe is worth the price of admission). I confess that I’m somewhat of a cookbook addict and my favorites are test-kitchen-style books that come with new cooking equipment. Although the photography takes Hendler's book to a level far above my manufacturer collection from the 60s, the recipes in Smokin!!! are written with the same straightforward language needed when mastering a brand new cooking method. The only downside is that when you master smoking you’ll be “doing the Turkey” until the cows come home.
